Jeremy our Sunday School Leader writes:
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time together over in Melton for our annual Sunday School outing on Saturday 18th June 2011.
The forecasts had not been encouraging and, in keeping with them, we arrived at just as it began to nail down with a heavy rain shower, so that our first few minutes together were spent in steamed up cars waiting for some respite! However, despite a couple of further showers during the afternoon – Twin Lakes proved to be a great venue for such a day, with plenty to do under cover, as well as outside when the weather allowed.
The great majority of our Sunday School were in attendance and, as the weather improved during the afternoon, they were all able to get out and fully explore the varied attractions of the park.
After leaving the park after around six hours of fun, we drove into Melton and met up with Shaun & Oksana. Shaun’s local knowledge was able to direct us towards an excellent Fish & Chip establishment, who catered admirably for us all. We were able to enjoy the final hour of our day together in a lovely riverside park – eating and playing a little football. We gathered around a large sundial and – yes, we were able to tell the time by it – there was a shadow, meaning the sun was out! It made for a lovely end to our outing and we are thankful to our Father for his blessings upon us throughout the day.
